What we do
Our goal is to create 3D models for the healthcare industry that are as realistic as possible. We develop our medical models in collaboration with medical experts and our long-standing customers. The lifelike silicone moulages are used in medical training. They can therefore be used as skills trainers for practicing diagnoses and treatments, or for demonstrating products in medical marketing. Handcrafted, fairly produced, made in Germany.

Who we are
Nicholas Krützfeldt founded MEDICAL FX in Cologne in 2014. We drew on our experience in the field of film effects and have been working with some of the best artists and experts in our industry for years. With our creative team, we have been able to master every project so far. We are driven by the desire to create the world’s most realistic simulation models—using plastic, paint, and inventive spirit.

From the film set to the skills lab
Nicholas worked in the film industry in New Zealand – on projects including Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit’ and Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Elysium’. There he learned how to work professionally with materials such as silicone and recognised how durable high-quality silicone is and what realistic effects can be achieved with it. With the aim of using this material for a durable, sustainable training product, the idea of self-adhesive wound models was born (as an efficient alternative to the time-consuming latex make-up for accident simulations that had been widely used until then). Since then, MEDICAL FX Germany, the team and the product portfolio have continued to grow.
